My Granddad had the ‘85 with the carbureted 3.0 and he put at least 212k miles on it before giving it to my cousin. She took it back to Michigan and drove it up to 2001

The front was an improvement over the clunky ‘74’s. Still, not a fave Cadillac with a rather strange rear design.

My son’s 1984 J10 had the two-handed pin on the 4WD switch. My 1988 Grand Wagoneer did not. It was vacuumed operated on the fly (just shift, let off of the gas for a second, hear it engage with a subtle whoosh, and away you’d go).

I had plenty of experience with the 360 two barrel leanburn units, never had a problem! But I always advanced the timing too. Thats actually the best thing to do, because the leanburn unit would keep it from pinging. Sorry, but Adam you SHOULD NOT include the single plug single pickup basic leanburn units in this discussion that were on the 318 and slant and even the 360 2 barrel. They were not problematic! It was only the early 2 pickup/ 2 plug units on bigblocks and other 4 barrel units that were problematic. Everyone just jumps to conclusions on this. They are not all the same! 318 lean burn units to this day continue to run great even though they have 40 years of age on them! You cant say that for some other engine computers of the 90s now. Many quit working and have to be replaced or fixed. Leaky compacitors usually go bad. I've seen it on fords, jeeps and even civics of the 90s now go bad! I say this because it should be understood for those that become afraid of all units when they do not have too like on the 80s diplomats or 5th aves. I have seen people on UA-cam buy these cars now, that dont know anybetter and jump conclusions because people lump them all in on the negativity of leanburn and think, oh know I have to get that unit off the car, I don't want any trouble with it when it most likely they won't give them any trouble.

Ugly design..looks like the ill-styled 1991 Caprice.."aero" styling just didn't work on true full-size American cars...they looked like upside-down bathtubs(sort of like the 1948-50 Packard)..the 1992 Crown Victoria wasn't quite as bad, but honestly, even though they never got the same grief over their styling as the Caprice, they are a pretty ugly design, too...especially the 1992-97 models..and particularly the grill-less 1992 model. They looked like a pregnant Taurus, or that upside-down bathtub look....

I will never, ever, understand what people find attractive about these things. The interior is undoubtedly comfortable. Not attractive. Comfortable. It's hideous in a variety of ways. Assembled poorly. And it has cheap, flimsy parts. People who heap praise on these behemoths are lying to themselves.

The 1971 models were the best, followed by the 1972 models. 73 sold, but the bumper issues... 74 more of the same, plus more detuning of the engine. 75's heavier, square headlights, from headlight casting cracking....and the catalytic converter. 76... not many changes except continued cheapening of the trim.

It WAS ONLY the early 2 plug 2 pick up lean burn systems on bigblock and 4 barrel engines that had problems! The 318 and slant 6 systems with1 plug/ 1 pickup leanburn systems WERE NOT PROBLEMATIC! People need to differentiate the 2! If the single plug and pickup on 318s and slant systems were problematic, Chrysler would NOT have continued with those all the way into 1989!

Looks like a third gen Trans Am hood and headlights and '91-96 Corvette parking lights which is interesting since it was an '88 Caddy.
